Oxford Screen Printable Solar Cells
Most of the people like the idea of renewable or natural energy sources like solar or wind energy. But hesitate to use it due to its complex installations and high costs. To make this easy, Oxford Photovoltaics has developed solar cells that can be printed directly on the glass. This solar panel uses photosynthesis technology using a dye that kicks loose an electron, starting a current of electric. These solar cells are fixed directly to windows by screen printing. The Oxford University group has won over $150,000 prize money from the U.K technology Board’s “Disruptive Solutions Competition” to commercialize this latest invention. The designer is planning to make these solar cells durable enough to last at least for 20 years.
