V-House by Gaaga
V-House is a single family residence located in Leiden, the Netherlands. Designed by Dutch architecture studio Gaaga, the house is located on a former industrial area which is designated by the city of Leiden as an experimental housing zone where people can design and develop their homes. The V-House is a part of an ensemble of eight houses, grouped side by side and back to back and are connected to each other by means of a party wall.
The house gets its name from the V-shaped roof constructed of wood. The roof is modeled after a common saddle roof with the difference that the top is turned downwards. The V-House consists of two floors. The top floor accommodates the living, dining and kitchen areas. The ground floor provides space for bedrooms and bathroom.
