Pod Fogponic Garden System by Greenfingers
Greenfingers, a group of students from University of Auckland have designed the Pod garden system. The indoor gardening concept is based on Fogponics, a subset of hydroponics, which uses a nutrient rich solution in a vaporised form to transfer nutrients to suspended plant roots.
Following is a project description from the designers, “Pod is a product designed to encourage the growing and sharing of plants by those with limited or no personal outdoor garden space. Pod is ideal for growing a wide range of plants indoors, as this soil free medium is mess free and requires very little maintenance.
Pod gives you all of the benefits of having an outdoor herb garden, without having to deal with the mess or hassle of watering and weeding. It’s as easy as plugging it in and watching it grow.
The relaxing fog and fresh smell of this living unit allows it to become the focal point of any space, encouraging healthy cooking and eating.
Pod has been designed as a modular product so that multiple units can be joined and grouped together, either in a home or communal setting. This creates a new social gathering point within communities, where users can come together to exchange plants, share recipes and socialise. Pod encourages healthy eating, home cooking, sustainability and a better lifestyle.”
