East Van House by Splyce Design
Canadian practice Splyce Design have built a contemporary asymmetric house in Vancouver, British Columbia. Known as the East Van House, the cedar-clad house was inspired by Modernist homes. Located in an architecturally diverse neighbourhood of Vancouver, the house is built for a single professional and features a sloped roof following the line of the staircase.
The basement contains a utility room, wine storage room, a garage and a guest bedroom and bathroom. The ground floor has an open kitchen and dining area and a living room. The dining and living areas are separated by a fireplace. The kitchen features white oak storage units and white kitchen island and cabinets. The top floor has a small study room and a bedroom with dressing area and wardrobe at the back.
