The offices of Nuon in modern retro-style
The design of the interior of working facilities is essential for the maintenance and the rise of creativity and productivity of employees at the highest level. It is not easy to design and organize a work space that will inspire and motivate employees to give their best. Amsterdam is one of the cities that allow full freedom to design the architecture and interiors and, consequently a place where you can find numerous examples of fantastically decorated spaces.
One such example is the interior of “Nuon”, designed by Dutch architects “HEYLIGERS Design + Projects”. Through the specific arrangement of the internal space they created completely open and flexible working environment. The interior, which covers an area of 27,000 square meters, consists of so-called “neighborhoods” that are divided according to job function, spaces for relaxation and combined offices. The entire interior is bright with relaxing tones of blue, white and ocher. The furniture is retro modern with exceptional pieces, like the chairs and the famous see-saw by the designers Ray and Charles Ames. Some of the walls are transformed into mini vertical gardens coated with fresh grass. The selection of chandeliers and lighting elements, especially the chandeliers in one of the cafes that resemble small solar system and the planets scattered throughout the space are amazing.
The building which houses the offices is actually the complex “New Amsterdam”. The complex was built 25 years ago and has recently been completely transformed into a modern building that also houses a hotel, restaurant and bar.
