LEGO House by Bjarke Ingels has an official opening date
Bjarke Ingels with his project LEGO House will realize the dream of many fans of the colorful blocks. Shaped like an object built out of blocks, LEGO House in Denmark will be fun and creative center for playing and learning about the famous Danish company.
The center is planned to be an entertaining space that will offer different opportunities for playing and learning with Lego blocks for visitors from around the world. Part of the activities and the building will have free entrance and access. Estimates are that the facility will receive around 250,000 visitors annually.
Danish architect Ingles imagined this little empire of creativity as a house made of Lego blocks. The facility will be made from 21 large white cubes arranged asymmetrically on one another. The specific architecture also creates an interesting play in the interior and extraordinary public space with the exterior. The area in front of the building will be a large square with greenery – space where children can safely play. The building and its architectural form will fully reflect the whole philosophy and playfulness of the company.
The creative center will be divided into several levels. On the ground floor there will be a shop, three restaurants, a conference hall and a spacious public square. The first and second floor will have four different creative play areas. Each zone will be divided by color. The third floor will have a large gallery, which will exhibit a variety of interesting works made by visitors and fans of Lego. In the basement there will be a large collection of historical objects by which visitors will discover the history of the Danish toy company.
The creative center hopes to enable new entertaining and educational experience for families, young and older fans. “LEGO House is scheduled to open at the end of September.
