Harmonious Mediterranean house in Ibiza

The enjoyment in warm summers amidst the Mediterranean nature is subtly reflected in the interior of the summer house Little House in Campo in Ibiza. The architectural studio “Standard Studio”, which designed the interior in the space, made a creative blend of the idea of summer freshness through the white walls, the warmth of the Mediterranean through the bright Mediterranean stone from which part of the wall in the kitchen was made and the old architecture through the ceiling with wooden beams .

The interior is pleasant, creative and minimalist in order to allow as much freedom and enjoyment in the home. The object used to be a granary which is now transformed into a modern comfortable home. Architects kept the wooden ceiling from the old structure, which gives a rustic note in the modern interior, as well as the old stone wall, which is now part of the new kitchen. In the spirit of retaining the authentic Spanish architecture, all window frames and balcony doors are made of wood, and the walls are made of white stone.

The white walls bring freshness and create a neutral atmosphere in which the modern creative décor fits easily. The lamps around the room are in contemporary notes, and the furniture is mainly in a retro style through the colorful Ames chairs.

The space is divided into two levels through simple steps. The bedroom is located on the second floor and has a visual connection with the living room and the dining room. Behind the dining room is a simple kitchen dominated by the rustic stone wall. Only a simple black kitchen surface area is inserted for the sink, the working surface and the stove. The space is playful with a pop art style drawing.

In the repurposing of the object, the architects did much more than just adjusting the aesthetic appearance. Because the building was long neglected, a huge part of the construction was reconstructed from the beginning, and the challenge was to bring water, electricity and to introduce an adequate sewer system in the house. The water comes from a private well, and in order to have hot water, solar panels are installed, which makes the house self-sustaining and energy-efficient.

Standard studio aimed and managed to create a modern comfortable home that is a contrast of the old architecture, with modern design and technology. The house enjoys the greenery and Mediterranean nature in a tranquil, zen-surrounded environment.
