Children’s daycare centre in Hamburg with a playful façade

The children’s daycare centre “Troplo Kids” in Hamburg, Germany is was designed for the offices of Beiersdorf AG, a well-known German company for personal care. With this facility for employees’ children, they offered a solution for a better balance between the private and professional of its employees.

The daycare centre is conveniently incorporated in the deeper green area of Hamburg, away from the city noise. The building was designed by the architectural studio “Kadawittfeldarchitektur” as a compact structure organized around a central multifunctional space that functions as a place for play and socialization.

The inspiration for the design of “Troplo Kids” comes from the history of “Beiersdorf”. The design of the facade that has colorful cubes is like an abstract version of apothecary cabinets. Apart from producing bright and transparent atmosphere inside, the concept of the façade creates more places for play and socialization that stimulate creativity and positive energy.

The range of colors on the façade continues inside the centre where kids can enjoy playing on the boxes, platforms and climbing objects.
