Designed by the architectural studio “NPDA”, house Somjai has a striking facade constructed with local brick and concrete material that helps maintain lower temperatures in the house, which is a positive characteristic in terms of the location of the house.
Inside, the house is divided into two zones – an indoor area and a large lounge open to the exterior. The small kitchen with a dining room, equipped with only the most basic elements, is directly connected to the main and guest bedrooms with separate bathrooms. The large multi-functional hall is used as a living room, a space for organizing parties and yoga.
The clearly defined lines of the roof and facade allow the specific red house come to the fore among the greenery of the coconut plantations. The thin iron staircase, made by a local craftsman, leads to the roof where the owners have the opportunity to enjoy the view of plantations, the sea and the surrounding hills.
