Social media giant Facebook has appointed the world-renowned Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry to design and expand its headquarters in Menlo Park, California. The proposed new expansion to the current campus will provide workspace for 2800 employees.
According to the status update by Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg on his timeline, the new campus will be one giant room that fits thousands of people. On completion, it will be the largest open floor plan in the world will plenty of private and quite spaces. The roof of the building will have a big park, complete with a long walking trail, a field and lots of places to sit and discuss. The construction of the new Facebook campus is scheduled to begin in early 2013.
