Japanese architect Yosuke Ichii has designed the Hi House in Yao City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan. The three-storey private house, built for a family of four people, is located in a dense residential area. The three floors of the house are connected by stairs that run through the center of the building. The first floor is the main activity area of the house. It houses a screened terrace on an extended, cantilevering balcony that shelters the front door and driveway. Living and dining areas occupy the remaining floor space of the first floor. The bedrooms are located on the bottom and top floors. The exterior of the house is formed by black galvanized steel.
