The House Birkensee by Vienna based architectural and design studio Labvert is a summer vacation home located on a lake south of Vienna. The design features wooden deck foundation and a roof enclosed by glass surfaces that allow direct access to outdoors with a view of the lake.
From the architects, “Separated by large sliding doors, a covered and shaded terrace flows into a spacious open living, cooking and eating area. A long shallow stairway leads to the upper floor with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. These are arranged on multiple levels. The master bedroom floats above the meadow, and the two other bedrooms extend through the roof. The arrangement of the volumes lend the roof a wave-like form. The bathroom has a view of the sky and the clouds passing by.”
