This beautiful stone house, John Dodge Compound was designed by Carney Logan Burke Architects and is located adjacent to the Snake River on a lot with a combination of dense forest and open meadow in Wilson, Wyoming. The design reflects traditional European country chateau with the use of heavy stones and concrete masses. The house with dense materiality and mass has three discrete volumes for garage, main living quarters (including a yoga studio), and master suite. A large glass expanses leads to the outdoor terrace. The residence features sustainable designs such as, geothermal heat pumps, radiant flooring, responsibly harvested lumber, high-performance windows and insulated concrete forms. Exterior of the building features barn wood siding, shake roofs and stacked stonework which echo the regional aesthetic. Check out the pictures.
