Renowned architectural companies “DP Architects” and “UNStudio” combined their designer abilities in the education sector. It is an ambitious project to design a new building for the University of Technology and Design in Singapore. The modern design of the university campus shows how the design can combine innovation and creativity using the link and the needs of students, professors and the university.
The campus consists of faculties are not fully deployed in various buildings, but are housed in architectural wings within the building complex that connect to each other through a network of common spaces and hallways. This way there are no boundaries between classrooms, laboratories and auditorium, as well as between students from different faculties. This helps to increase the interaction between different disciplines, thus the campus becomes an incubator for fostering communication, creativity and innovation.
In order to support the focus of the University to sustainable design and provide a comfortable and stimulating educational environment, the architects created the so-called Passive architectural structures whose geometries create spacious open hallway that takes on the role of the main source of daylight and fresh air for the complex and its spectacular gardens.
