Julien De Smedt Architects have designed the Bone Chair. It is a simple seating unit made of veneer. The chair is made in a simple process which starts with a box-like seat made up of veneer planes. The unwanted sections and ballast material of the chair are then removed, leaving only a skeleton of the chair. According to the designer, “The dissection of a chair, cutting away all the ballast material. What is left is BONE, a chair’s skeleton.”
