Croatian design firm Atmosfera has created a unique furniture series called Boomerang. Following is the description by the designer, “The idea was to design one universal shape made of natural materials with which we can form various objects of everyday life. An element that unites in itself static, ergonomic and aesthetic values can by way of multiplications and recombination, provide us with good quality usable items. Atmosfera™ designed such an element and called it boomerang.
Conceptually, this product is a synthesis of a common denominator of many usable items. By combining and stacking the same element, it is possible to assemble a great number of functional objects such as various furniture; armchair, chair, chaise, table, bench, partition, hanger, shelves and the like. The fact that there is a large number of combinations that can be compiled, allows for innovation on the part of the assembler. Boomerang is, therefore, also fun.
Form and function of the product is suited to human use. It was designed to provide ergonomic employment in all positions. Boomerang is made of very fine wood – Croatian oak. Finishing and impregnation is done with oil. Furniture made of boomerangs is very pleasant to touch and creates a natural balance between a person and an object. Weight of one element is 0.45 kg. All fittings are stainless steel (inox). The product is sized and shaped so as to be firm, strong, durable, multifuncionalan and aesthetically interesting. The assumption is extremely high durability, which is a fundamental property of our source materials: oak and stainless steel.
This product is 100% recyclable. We use the best quality oak tree, which is a renewable material. Wood preservation is done with oil. The production technology is modern and energy consumption is very low compared to quality and durability of the final product.
Peripherals of the Product
Boomerang elements occupy very little space during transport or when they are put away. Integration of products into the environment is possible in both the interior and the exterior. Packaging and disposal issues are resolved by the use of cardboard / paper packaging.”
