4. Diamond Coffee Table

Diamond is a coffee table designed by Les M Design Studio. The table is composed of panels made of bio-composite material. In the designer’s words, “This material comes in the form of a sandwich of cork, linen, and PLA (resin made from corn). So the elements that make up this material all come from plants, making it entirely biodegradable. This is a real technological advance that follows the principles of sustainable development, unlike other composite materials.

In fact, the latter are generally made using thermosetting polymers made from petrochemicals, and recycling possibilities for these are very limited. This handy table can be fully dismantled and the cork makes it very light and stiff. Project realized in partnership with ID Composite and sponsored by Depestele and Numéricoupe.”

The moiré effect is the beating heart of the Taffy collection of tables, which take on a life of their own when they are combined and made to engage synergetically with one another, thereby generating a dynamic effect much like the one characterizing the graphic pattern that inspired them. Taffy comes in three different sizes that are designed to work wonderfully together, but each can also be used independently.”
