1. Modular Wall Shelving System Box 1-7

Finnish designer Pekka Kuivamäki has created this versatile wall shelving system called Box 1-7 in collaboration with Spanish company Be a Malevich. The modular shelf is made of seven boxes of different sizes. Combined with nylon or natural leather ropes, the boxes hang on the wall from a single nail. The different sizes of the boxes and the different lengths of the ropes offer many different ways to arrange and rearrange the wall shelf to suit the needs of the user. The Box 1-7 not only acts as a modular wall shelf but also becomes art on the wall. The boxes are made of MDF and laminated.

2. Clopen Wall Shelf cum Secret Drawer

Clopen is a simple wall shelf that also doubles as a secret drawer. Designed by Japanese practice Torafu Architects, the Clopen, at first glance looks like any other floating shelf. But inside that 34mm thick wall shelf is a hidden secret drawer of 23mm thick. The Clopen is constructed from aluminum parts clad with veneer to make the whole shelf look like it is made from one solid piece of timber. To slide open the hidden drawer, you need to use the magnetic keys provided with the shelf. Take a look at the pictures below.

3. Bridge Shelves

Design studio Outofstock has created the Bridge, a shelving unit inspired by the structure of a suspension bridge. The wall shelves are manufactured by Bolia. From the designers, “We have always been fascinated by this engineering marvel, which has manifested itself in iconic landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge and the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge. Strong and functional, at the same time awe-inspiring, that prompted us to design this new shelf.

The Bridge shelves can be used in a variety of settings, such as in the living room, bathroom, or kitchen. Detachable suspension clips, made of bent metal pipes, enable the user to create one’s preferred configuration, be it for the display of personal mementos, bathroom accessories or kitchen spices.”
