UK-based designers Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay of Raw Edges Studio have created the Deskbox for Dutch furniture company Arco. It is a small table/cabinet that is hung on to a wall. Ideal for small spaces, the Deskbox is a small worktop excellent for working with a laptop. It can be opened outwards to create a bigger work surface. After finishing the work simply tuck in the laptop and retract the wooden surface to form a closed box with half the size of the table top. It not only saves the space but also provides storage space for the laptop. The design is based on the parallel mechanism which Arco used in Sewing Boxes a long time ago. The Deskbox was on display at Milan during the Salone del Mobile 2012.
