Milan-based designer Odo Fioravanti has created the Dragonfly chair for Italian furniture company Segis. The name of the chair comes from its design which was inspired by dragonflies. From the designers, “The design of this new chair, appropriately named “Dragonfly”, was derived from observations made on dragonflies, whose bodies are characterized by an imbalance in weight distribution between the front legs and their extended tail. From this formal suggestion derived the idea of a cantilever with four legs joined on the front of the chair and a seat that seems to cheat the force of gravity.”
