German designers Reinhard Dienes and Sebastian Herkner have designed the Epos shelf for Foundry Collection. Following is some information from the designers, “The shelf Epos is made of solid wood and powder-coated metal elements. The design concept makes a multitude of combinations in the distance of the boards and their length possible. Epos works either as a singular element or as shelving wall in a straight line.
The stability of the shelf enable it to be used as a freestanding room divider or as a traditional against-the-wall unit. The idea behind the design is to use timber wedges to fix the shelf together. The construction or deconstruction is based on a minimum of work and tools. To individualize Epos, you have the opportunity to attach different kind of boxes and surfaces to this system.”
