Gattai Bench, designed by Lui Kawasumi, is a furniture collection designed for social interaction. Gattai means combine in Japanese; the bench combines five stools, resembling mooring docks and Japanese drums, using a rope. The furniture can be used as a bench by touching all units together or as stools for evening tea party by setting them apart. But at all the times the stools and people sitting on them are connected.
