Loops Chair is a hybrid of a carpet and a chair designed by Sophie de Vocht. Here is some description by the designer, “This project arose from my fascination for the tufting technique. This technique is usually used for making carpets. A simple metal frame as bottom and a thicker thread create the possibility to use this technique for more applications, such as a chair. Different sized loops create ascending shapes that will eventually fann out over the floor. The chair is standing in the border of furniture and carpet. By crossing a carpet and a chair the comfort and the warmth of a carpet are used in a different way.”
