Mosaiik is a unique and colorful lounge chair designed by Swedish designer Anna Goransson. Inspired by the structure of corncobs and sunflower buds, the chair has a metal grid which serves as a framework for the upholstering. The upholstery of the lounge chair is made up of 297 foam cubes which are spread and packed with the curving of the seat. The cubes are pressed through a wool fabric to create a smooth surface on top and the rough structure at the back. The designer has left the back uncovered to show different structures created by the upholstering technique. The Mosaiik lounge chair was on display at Stockholm Furniture Fair 2011.
