A student of Kyoto Institute of Technology, Shin Yamashita has designed a foam floor covering which also has panels that flip up and fold to become furniture such as table, backrest, tray, footrest and even a pillow. This versatile design called Land Peel is very minimalistic and unique. We can see the space saving design theme in this product which all Japanese furniture and architecture have in common. It also has a plug for reading lamp which also acts as table leg when you open the writing table for use. This can be a versatile solution for living rooms in small apartments.
