“Normal” is a furniture collection composed of a chair and a table. Created by young Italian designer Stefano Merlo, the design concept is based on the motto “Less lasts more.” Both chair and table feature a very simple design and the combination of wood and metal gives them and iconic identity found in the traditional chair and table design. According to the designer, “The iconic chair and table of the future have to be simple and honest. They do not have to be the result of a temporary trend but they should have a shape that looks already familiar in the mind of the people.
Even the materials, like wood and metal, have to be honest and simple.Contrary to plastic, that is cold and doesn’t have the right power of carrying any emotion, wood and metal transform with us over the time, gaining a patina full of value and emotions.”
