Istanbul-based furniture brand Karre Design has created the Rumi Armchair. The chair was originally designed by Turkish designer Sadi Ozis as one of the first Turkish Metal furniture item in 1964. This smiling armchair is inspired from the Sufi dervishes of the Mevlevi order also known as whirling dervishes. The name Rumi comes from the mystic Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi whose teachings have become the base of the order. The form of the armchair symbolizes the peaceful and tolerant teachings of Rumi which embrace everyone, no matter from what religion, race and nation they are.
The Rumi armchair has stainless steel or painted legs and is available with variety of different upholstery including leather.
