American designer Jason Phillips designed a unique dining table called String Theory. In designer’s words, “String theory is a developing theory in particle physics that attempts to reconcile quantum mechanics and general relativity. It is a contender for the theory of everything, a manner of describing the known fundamental forces and matter in a mathematically complete system.
String theory mainly posits that the electrons and quarks within an atom are not zero-dimensional objects, but rather one-dimensional oscillating lines, or strings. A super-symmetry exists in an extra, unobservable dimension in our universe, in addition to the usual four space-time dimensions.
The String Theory Table is a dining table but also an art piece. Finished in bone white, the pillar, rectangular top, and supporting pipes are homogeneous. The various plans, densities, and juxtaposition creates multiple dimensions of dynamics.”
