German design studio SISMAN has designed the SuperSputnik, a wireframe stool with wooden seat top. In designer’s words, “SuperSputnik consists of a flexible wireframe structure made of two bended 8mm thick steel wires and a solid massive wooden seat top. Seat diameter 32cm and 45cm high, total weight depends on wood type and varies from 1.9 to 2.4 kg. Vertically it takes up to 400kg before the material reaches its physical limit, but still the seat top is soft into rotational and bending direction. That feature offers unexpected comfort and function, as you may sit also on the edge and still have a stable feeling.”
