The Gaudi Chair is a simple and minimalist chair design with a funny duck-tail like backrest created by Studio Geenen. The modern chair has a structure of glass-filled Nylon covered by a shell of carbon fiber. In designer’s words, “The shape of the chair was defined in the same way that Antoni Gaudi designed the structure of his churches; by making a model out of hanging chains, and so letting gravity determine the strongest shape for taking forces.” And to create structure of the rib of chair the designer combined the chain-models with a software script. High end materials and construction techniques were used to create this lightweight chair. Check out the pictures.
