Zip is a unique collapsible chair created by American design studio Swinton. Inspired by ancient stone arch bridges, the furniture design is a result of study in physics, craft and ingenuity. The chair is made of two flexible panels comprised of twenty five precisely angled wooden sections. When joined in center and opened, like a zipper, the panels create a rigid seating surface and backrest. The Zip chair folds completely flat when not in use.
