Creative studio “AIM” worked on the renovation of the apartment with an area of 50 square meters located in an old building built in the 1920s in Milan. Named “Sought After”, the project included reorganization of space and finding a solution to the serious technical problems with the architectural structure of the house, and replacement of the significantly damaged ceilings and floors.
The architectural team removed all ruined architectural elements of the home and replaced them with new ones. The only element that was left in its original state was the wall between the living room and the bedrooms.
Now the apartment has a new, more durable structure and practical design, including new materials and elements. The new interior is contemporary with a special attention to the decor with vintage-details. The apartment has an open plan and harmony between the different spaces. You can see the use of materials that are characteristic for different styles, which gives the apartment a modern but also a vintage-spirit.
The home is bright and transparent, reminiscent of the warmth of the Mediterranean. The team applied several design tricks and solutions in order to obtain a brighter interior such as bright wall surfaces, transparent curtains and large mirror placed at the end of the hallway, which multiplies and reflects daylight around the apartment.
