“FiL Books” is a pleasant spot in Istanbul dedicated to the lovers of good books and the taste of coffee. The architectural studio “Halükar Architecture / Mimarlik” was in charge for the design of the café and bookstore, which managed to tailor the interior to be relaxing like a comfortable home.
The 80-square meter space is organized in four floors, each with a special charm and a different concept. “FiL Books” has an area for reading and learning, drinking coffee, a reserved space for creative workshops and a storage area.
The challenge and the main goal in the design of the cafe was the necessity of considering the ways in which each centimeter meets the required functions. Architects strived to create a comfortable and bright environment that would give everyone a cozy feeling.
The interior is bright with a pastel color palette, which is soothing and stimulating. The striking pieces of furniture and illuminating elements create a wholesome space. The small tables are fixed to the sofas with pipes that branch off and form lighting fixtures.
