Japanese practice Airhouse Design Office have converted an old farm warehouse into a home for a couple in Yoro district, Gifu Prefecture. The designers have created a single-roomed layout without any columns to take advantage of the open space of the existing warehouse. A large white box at the center houses a bedroom and a bathroom. The focal point of the house is a large kitchen which showcases the couple’s love for food and cooking. The loft above the white box which serves as a children’s bedroom is accessed by a wide staircase.
