House Like Village by Dutch practice Marc Koehler Architects is a part of the transformation of an old harbor-cantina on KNSM island in Amsterdam into large apartments. The house is composed of 4 smaller houses that contain private spaces and supporting facilities. An open multifunctional space is located in between them where natural daylight enters deep into the house.
An elevated level houses cooking, dining and living area and also an extra guest bedroom. The wall closets and cupboards also function as structural support.
