Old brewery in Istanbul transformed into an urban relaxed restaurant

On your next visit to Istanbul spare time to visit the new cafe-restaurant “The Populist”. Housed in one of the first breweries in Turkey, the space will attract you with the old architecture, harmoniously intertwined with modern elements and industrial style.

The century old space was renovated and designed by Spanish design studio “Lagranja”, by transforming the old brewery into a modern brewery and restaurant. Relaxed and comfortable, the place is a mixture of old and new. The old walls will make you feel like you’re in a mystical museum and historical place, harmoniously connected and modernized with the decor of neon lights and interesting graphic designs.

The spacious restaurant is filled with greenery, inspiring art, photographs of people across Istanbul, modern furniture, elements that contribute to the immediacy, comfort and relaxation of the space. The central element is the grandiose staircase linking the first to the second level.

The restaurant has three floors and is divided into six parts, each with different design, yet compact and harmoniously integrated into a whole unit with a unique setting that connects the history of the city with its modern urban rhythm.
