Austrian architectural firm Querkraft has created an entrance for the TMW Technical Museum in Vienna. The fully glazed entrance lobby of the museum was creating many problems; poor acoustics, over-heating in summer and cooling in winter, unattractive seating and lack of identity. So the designer created “seating trees”, plastic seating elements, which individually enclose the existing steel columns and also created a textile ceiling which gives shadow to the lobby. The seating elements are lit from the inside and the color of the light can be changed according to the occasion or mood. Check out the pictures.
