Air Kitchen by UK-based brand deVOL Kitchens combines modern Hi-Macs acrylic stone with classic materials such as aluminum and wood. Inspired by the timeless icons of the twentieth century, the Air Kitchen is made using traditional craftsmanship techniques. The simple and classic lines of the Air emulate iconic objects such as the cars of the period, the hulls of traditional boats, the Airstream caravan or the sensuous Lockheed Lounge chair by Marc Newson.
The Air Kitchen features a combination of a curved wooden structure and aluminium laminated panels. The doors and drawers of the cabinet are made using Hi-Macs acrylic stone and feature a convenient, single-touch opening system to keep the lines pure and intact.
“I really wanted it to be curvy, retro, sleek and floaty, reminiscent of some of the most desirable things that I find really emotive; things that my heart wants but my head says I can’t have.” says Paul O’Leary, founder of deVOL.
