Designer Michael Young has created the Tetrix modular kitchen for Italian company Scavolini. Inspired by the classic video game Tetris, the modular kitchen is able to adapt to any aesthetic and functional requirement. The kitchen modules come in many different geometric shapes and colors, as many as 25 glossy and 25 matt colors.
Following is a description from the producer, “Essential shapes and geometric volumes for a kitchen space that becomes the heart of a modern home. Style and colours (Mink for the glossy lacquered doors, Ivory for the glossy lacquered elements and the glass wall units) favour formal rigour combined with maximum functionality.
The concept of modularity is also applied to the island. The table’s top is connected to the under-top of the worktop; the low containing module underneath enhances its aesthetics and functionality.
The great modularity of the elements also allows to create more traditional kitchen areas. Putting together wall units and stacked wall units and corner solutions can illustrate the concept of a traditional kitchen built with base units, tall units and wall units.”
