Tilta Floor Lamp by Scoope Design

Brooklyn-based studio Scoope Design has created the Tilta Lamp. It is a floor lamp made of wood, glass and aluminum with a solid concrete base. The lamp’s concrete base allows it to rotate 360 degrees and rest on any of its octagonal shaped sides to tilt the lamp at an angle of 30 degree on any direction. Because of the heavyweight concrete base, the lamp can tilt and stay in that position without toppling over. The metal part on top of the bulb acts as a handle and allows the user to grab and tilt the lamp. The Tilta Lamp is also available in small size to use it on the desk.

According to the designers, “Made from the basic building materials of concrete, wood, glass and aluminum, the Tilta breaks away from the common perception of space in how it introduces a new “suspended” dimension in reaching out and embracing an unconventional third dimension. Design, architecture, science, and a good dose of a playful spirit all come together harmoniously in exploring a new approach.”
