Dutch designer Bas van der Veer has designed a rain water harvesting system called the Pure Raindrop. Following is some information provided by the designer, “The Pure Raindrop is a rain barrel that makes saving water really easy by providing a watering can that fills up automatically when it rains. This way, the user doesn’t have to fill the can with our precious tap water, but uses ‘free’ rainwater instead. With the small tap at the bottom of the barrel, the watering can can be refilled after using it.
The Pure Raindrop Mini is a smaller version of the Raindrop and was designed specifically for use on balconies and in small gardens. An integrated watering can fills up automatically when it rains, making it really easy to use rain water instead of tap water to water the indoor and outdoor plants. The designs of both the Raindrop Mini and the matching can are inspired by a drop of water and the product fits on all round drainage tubes of 70 and 80mm in diameter. The bottom of the Raindrop Can is slightly hollow to make the use with two hands more comfortable.
The Raindrop Can comes in several fresh colors and in two sizes: 3,5 liter (fits in de Raindrop Mini) and 5 liter (fits in the regular Raindrop).”
