This self-sterilizing door handle designed by Choi Bomi has won Red Dot 2010 Design Concept award. The idea is pretty simple and straight-forward. The door handles in public places used by many people often act as disease carriers, but not this brillianly designed handle. The concept uses UV lights to sterilize the handle. When the handle is not in use, the end of the door handle pushes down on the switch and keeps the UV lamp on which starts sterilizing the handle. When the handle is used, the switch springs upwards and lamp is turned off. Check out the pictures of this healthy idea.
