This old stone barn from the 15th century transformed into a modern house in the southern part of Great Britain is an example of the realization of the dream of everyone who wants a comfortable space for housing.
Through careful restoration and expansion, architects from the studio “MOOARC” managed to create flexible family home which provides fluidity of movement between the old traditional and the contemporary interior and exterior.
The internal volume of the barn forms the heart of the home, where the lower level houses the kitchen and dining room, positioned beneath the living room. The interior of the house has a fluid layout, and the large glass surfaces highlight the contemporary transformation, but also fit perfectly with the stone walls of the old barn. There is a separate area for sleeping, which can be accessed via a glass passage.
